## Description

List macro series whose ingested observations changed after a timestamp.

Use this as a cheap "what changed?" poll instead of re-pulling every
tracked series. The result is the shared envelope: `data.since` and
`data.source` echo the filter, `data.updates` is the bounded newest-first
page, `meta` holds `source` ("macro_catalog") and the freshest
`updated_at` on the page, and `pagination` holds the cursor paging
state.

Each update row carries `series_key`, `source`, `title`, `units`,
`currency`, `frequency`, `seasonal_adjustment`, `geography`,
`updated_at`, and `latest_observation`. `updated_at` is when we
ingested the newest change for that series — insert or revision — and
can postdate `latest_observation.as_of` when an older period was revised.
`latest_observation` is only the newest period summary; call
`macro_get_series` with the returned `series_key` for full history.

Bounds: default `limit` 100, max 500. Ordering is `updated_at`
descending, then `series_key` ascending for ties. To page, pass
`pagination.next_cursor` back as `cursor` while keeping `since` and
`source` unchanged; a series that receives *another* update while you
are mid-pagination can move ahead of your cursor and drop out of the
current pass — it surfaces on your next poll, since its `updated_at`
just got newer. Errors carry a machine `code`: `bad_parameter` for a
naive/malformed `since`, malformed cursor, or out-of-range limit.

Example: `macro_list_recent_updates(since="2026-07-01T00:00:00Z",
source="bls", limit=100)`.

## Parameters

Input schema advertised to MCP clients and mirrored by the REST query string.

| Parameter | In | Type | Required | Default | Constraints | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| since | input | `string (date-time)` | yes | — | — | RFC 3339 timestamp with timezone offset. Returns series whose freshest observation-level as_of is strictly after this timestamp; poll by passing the max updated_at from your previous call. |
| source | input | `"treasury" \| "bls" \| "bea" \| "ecb" \| "frb" \| "usaspending" \| "eurostat" \| "census" \| null` | no | null | — | Optional agency filter (`treasury`, `bls`, `bea`, `ecb`, `frb`, `usaspending`, or `eurostat`). `frb` covers Federal Reserve Board H.15/PRATES policy and market rates, H.4.1 balance-sheet levels, H.8 bank credit, G.17/G.19 activity and credit, and SLOOS credit conditions. Omit for all macro sources. |
| limit | input | `integer` | no | 100 | min 1, max 500 | Updated series rows to return, newest first (1–500). |
| cursor | input | `string \| null` | no | null | — | Opaque pagination cursor from a previous response's `pagination.next_cursor`; keep `since` and `source` constant while paging. Omit to start from the newest update. |
